Welcome and Thanks

For launch of the HiberniaEvros’ Newsletter Initiative, Bob Murray (Managing Director of HiberniaEvros Technology Group) was asked to write a few words, outlining the views and opportunities that arises in the near future.  This initiative shows that the organisation is keen on keeping clients, new and old, included in what’s happening and how we can assist you in your upcoming challenges.  Bob explains this better, so go ahead, read the below letter from Bob.

The pleasure has fallen on me to pen a few words of welcome to the inaugural HiberniaEvros Technology Group newsletter. Although they may venture, I don’t believe the best sales person in the world could tell you about everything that’s happening in HiberniaEvros, least of all what the latest industry trends are from some of our partners such as HP, Microsoft, and VMware. So, we’ve hit on this newsletter idea to do just that.

I’d like to say that we’ve decided to do this newsletter due to requests from our clients, and that this is therefore your newsletter. But, I can’t, it’s our newsletter which has been brought about by a need; the need to provide you with another arm of service and support. We’ve put in considerable time and effort developing it in the hope that it will be a source of real value to everyone.

It will not be a sales pitch or just another social tool. In it you will see information that we hope will add benefit and real value to your business be it from within these walls or across the vast array of websites, lists, blogs and tweets across the world. From the outset it will continue to be a newsletter by us, for you.

Twenty years in this business has taught me that the most successful client relationships are the ones where clients regard us as a partner rather than a mere supplier. By partnering through this medium you will get a better understanding of what we and our partners are up to and we’ll get a better understanding of your requirements and steer our business in a direction that suits your needs.

We’re hoping that you will engage with us and communicate to us any areas or topics you would like to see and if all goes according to plan over time it will become your newsletter; detailing topics that are important to you in your everyday tasks.

For those of you who have worked with us in the past, thank you. For those of you that are new to HiberniaEvros, welcome. We look forward to partnering with you through 2012 and beyond.

Bob Murray

And the winner is…

A couple of weeks back, I was pleased to announce that HiberniaEvros had been nominated for the prestigious award, Deloitte Technology Fast 50.  Being shortlisted for such an award is exciting and demonstrates that HiberniaEvros are a business that provides a high quality service.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is an awards program honoring business growth, technological innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.  The program ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland based on percentage revenue growth over a five-year period.

“This is the first time we have been included in the Deloitte Fast 50 ranking,” commented Bob Murray, Joint Managing Director, HiberniaEvros. “We have dedicated staff that are focused on top quality customer service and driving the business forward. This ranking is a wonderful acknowledgement of their efforts.”

The night of awards emerged, and the management team at HiberniaEvros were getting nervous about the upcoming process.  Winning an award for something that you work so hard for, and believe in, makes it a thrilling and a fantastic motivator to all staff  at HiberniaEvros.

We are pleased to inform you that HiberniaEvros were ranked number 26 in the 2011 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program.  The Deloitte Fast 50 is a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Ireland.  Again, this shows our commitment and drive to provide excellent service to our clients, but it also shows that our clients believe in us and their appreciation of our services makes it possible grow our business.

The amount of products and services we provide makes us an excellent business partner with any organisation, no matter size, as we can match our services and skills to your requirements.

As well as making it onto the Deloitte Fast 50 list, HiberniaEvros has automatically been entered into the EMEA Fast 500 which pools all Fast 50 winning companies from Europe, Middle East and Africa and ranks accordingly.

Again, this is a great opportunity and exposure for HiberniaEvros, and we are delighted with the recognition we’ve received by being selected to be in this program.  This puts the company up against the best performing companies in EMEA and shows that our formula has work.

Wish us luck in the next stage of this program.

Do the right thing…

HiberniaEvros is always aiming to help the community and environment, and have been involved in numerous ‘green’ projects in recent years such as planting trees, implementing HP Blade technology and providing managed hosting services to reduce the carbon footprint for SME’s.

Mid 2010 Monica Medina, managing director of Desarollo 360, approached HiberniaEvros with the aim to discuss CSR (corporate social responsibilities).  For many organisations, CSR is only about saving the rain forest, reduce immersion or sign up to Greenpeace.  But, CSR is much more than that.

Desarollo 360 became involved with an NGO in Costa Rica called CEPIA, which seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers from low-income families in the coastal communities of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Monica travelled to Costa Rica and saw first hand the support CEPIA provides for the local community, in particular single women who had been abandoned by their husbands, and they were now trying to make a living and provide for their kids.

Monica went on to write an extensive paper on how to empower women in Costa Rica.  Shortly after releasing the document, Monica was approached by the President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla Miranda, who was very interested in Monica’s work and the research she had completed.

Desarollo 360 has stayed in touch with CEPIA, to follow their progress.  As CEPIA is a non-profit organisation all their money comes from the Costa Rican government and other donations.

Between HiberniaEvros and Desarollo 360, it was agreed to support CEPIA, despite the economic climate in Ireland.  In order to help CEPIA with administering the records and details of the local activities, and to stay in touch with the World using the web, HiberniaEvros and Desarollo 360 have shipped a 24″ iMac to Costa Rica.  Mac are known for efficient use of space and simple to use interface, and it only requires one power connection.

We hope the CEPIA will find the unit useful and that it will help them in the work.

Furthermore, we hope that this act of random kindness will inspire other companies to support communities within or outside their areas.  It doesn’t cost much and every little donation helps.

Better than the rest?

For almost 2 decades HiberniaEvros has been servicing the Irish market, providing a wide range of IT related products – just like so many other ITC companies in Ireland.

There has been many years of growth within the Irish ITC market, as a result of the famous Celtic tiger, and huge International organizations have created their EMA headquarters in Ireland.  However, it would be unfair to contribute HiberniaEvros’ success in the Irish market solely to this failed monster – now a mythical creature similar to Loch Ness.

True, many organizations throughout Ireland benefited extremely well from the economic growth, but it was also because other industries had no problem paying excessive prices for products and services.  As long as you could get the latest software version or most advanced hardware, customers would pay above the odds – giving them a short-term advantage over the competition.
